|Membership:||In 1972 the Circle of Friends, Freundeskreis Freilichtmuseum Südbayern e. V., was founded; since then the association has provided financial and moral support to the museum.
The registered society has more than 3,500 members at present. The President is Werner-Hans Böhm, Regierungspräsident Oberbayern a.D.
