Did you know?

As nothing remained of the original furnishings when the building was dismantled in 1975, copies were made of furniture and textiles from times gone by or replacement objects were procured. The current fittings provide an example of the living conditions on a small landholding around the turn of the 20th century.

The house's surroundings are also included in the museum education concept: The garden is arranged as a household garden in and around the year 1900 and focuses on the subject of self-sufficiency. Children can take part in various projects, planting and harvesting their own produce. In order to convey an idea of how closely people and animals lived together in those days, the stable and dungheap have been included in the sensory experience of the house.
