S3 Boundary stone from the time of Bavaria’s first land survey

District: Bad Tölz - Wolfratshausen
Municipality: Schlehdorf
Type of Building: boundary stone

Beginning of the 19th century

The inscription “KRD” on the boundary stone stands for “Königliches Remontedepot”, or “Royal Remount Depot”. “Remounts” were replacement Military horses. The stones marked the boundaries of Kreut farm, which belonged to the former Schwaiganger remount depot (today the Principal and State Stud Farm of Bavaria). They are from the period after 1875. The Kreut farm had been newly marked out with a total of 127 boundary stones, most of which are still there. The stone which is depicted is located on the path to the mountain pasture building group.
