Tips for Visiting

At First Glance
You visit the Glentleiten Open Air Museum for the first time? The round tour to get to know the museum will guide visitors to selected stations and provide them with an overview of the variety of topics in the museum.

Dogs are welcome to the open air museum, but please put them on a tight leash. Admission is free. For the removal of dog mess you will receive small bags free of charge.

Any baggage not needed during your stay can be stored in lockers. The use of the lockers is free of charge.

The museum’s shop in the entrance building offers a wide range of products of high quality which are typical of Upper Bavaria. Besides unusual gifts you will also find scientific publications, catalogues and books about Bavarian history and culture.
Souvenirs and oddities can be found in the Kramerladen. Handmade ceramics are sold by the pottery of the museum.

Due to high fire hazard smoking is not permitted on the complete area of the museum with the exception of the beer gardens.

Taking Photos and Making Films
Taking photos and making films in the museum is permitted for private purposes. Any commercial use is subject to prior consent of the Director of the museum.
