Region Displayed:

The museum presents the complete Upper Bavarian region – from South-Western to North-Eastern Upper Bavaria, from the area between the Isar river and the Inn river over the Berchtesgadener Land up to the Rupertiwinkel.

Collection:

The collection of objects of ethnology at the Glentleiten comprises almost 80,000 historic objects, primarily furniture, textiles, tools and household equipment as well as objects of religious worship.

Membership:

In 1972 the "Friends of the Museum", "Freundeskreis Freilichtmuseum Südbayern e. V.", was founded; since then the association has provided financial and moral support to the museum. The registered society has more than 3,700 members at present. The President is Christoph Hillenbrand, president of the Bavarian Supreme Audit Office.
