The "Bundwerk" barn exhibited at the Open Air Museum was originally part of a “Wasserburger Zwiehof”, which is a farmstead made up of a byre-type dwelling and a barn.

Its acquisition by the Open Air Museum was not the first time the building had been moved. The Bundwerk barn was constructed on Jakobsplatz in Munich for the 1972 Olympic Games, where it was used as an entrance building to an exhibition about Bavarian art and culture. Its size and central location at the museum mean the “Jackl” building is put to use for various events at Glentleiten.
