The Weberbauerkaser building is not a wooden structure; the walls were constructed using quarried stone. The roofing above the living quarters is sheet metal, with wooden shingle covering the roof of the working quarters. Museum employees made an exciting discovery when they dismantled the building: the living quarters contained a hiding place for poaching ammunition.

Did you know?

The furnishings are functional, but with great attention to detail. The poaching ammunition was hidden above and to the left of the window. A hole of about three centimetres had been drilled into the beam, directly above a pan rack, and was used to hide two rifle cartridges. The hole was discreetly sealed with a scrap of newspaper (dated 9 April 1925) and lime plaster. Mountain pasture huts were often used by poachers as a kind of base camp, where they hid guns, ammunition, poached game or themselves from hunters.
